Positi! on Summary
The Configuration Supervisor is responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day aspects of the Technical Services Department. This position is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, and quality control measures as established and set for the departments. This position reports directly to the Configuration Senior Manager and will also assist with other duties as instructed by management.
Job Duties
Technical Services & Support : Properly run, dress, form, secure and sew all cabling either in a switch, cell site or cabinet. Understand and use established safety requirements and procedures for equipment, ESD, power and radiation. Perform pre-install, site doc, equipment delivery, receive equipment, and site layout and equipment inspection. Install frames, cabinets, batteries, BFU's, cable ladder, radio cabinets and there components, transmission equipment, along with power, alarm punch down, and ! bulkhead antenna connections. Installation of coax connectors to pass sweep test and RF troubleshooting. Inspection of coax installation and perform sweep testing. Installation of DC power battery back-up. Utilization of correct documents, such as manuals and forms for testing. Test different power systems and bring them on-line. Use of basic electricity principles and perform system configurations. Implement proper testing, grounding, and safety principles and procedures. Follow established procedures and resolve any site issues such as material or engineering discrepanices. Perform final inspection of completed projects and work to ensure conformance to MOP, and customer quality standards. Complete all applicable inspection report sand required project documentation on time and legible.
Supervision & Logistics Center Operations : Supervise the day-to-day activities of department personnel to insure both internal and external customers are satisfied. Superv! ision duties include performance reviews, work assignments, safety prog! ram adherence, corrective disciplinary action, mentorship, training and development, etc. Monitor productivity and quality objectives of assigned personnel and work in conjunction with the logistics center management staff to help develop, implement and facilitate processes that focus on achieving measurable improvements to production efficiency, inventory management, quality, fulfillment accuracy and on-time delivery. Assist in the planning and preparation of the high-volume seasonal operations plan (capacity, labor forecasting, scheduling, order fulfillment, etc.). Conduct studies in areas of assembly, packaging, and programming and evaluate existing procedures and standards. Initiates changes designed to improve control and efficiency of assigned department. Responsible for cross training of associates to ensure adequate resources are available to achieve customer demand.
Continuous Improvement : Identify and eliminate waste that will result in an increas! e in customer satisfaction and profitability, shorter cycle times and productivity improvements. Lead key productivity initiatives by collaborating with cross functional groups to improve established objectives, plans, and schedules thereby increasing operational effectiveness. Utilize quality process disciplines to evaluate, revise, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Review daily/project productivity and resource efficiency goals by tracking specific metrics, including workflow, labor and materials costs. Create a collaborative environment by seeking guidance from peers, supervisors or other facility departments when necessary to achieve common goals. Promote clean, safe work areas by continuously implementing and enforcing company safety programs and policies.
Requirements
- AS/BS Degree in a technical field (i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science) a must;
- 3 - 5 yrs of direct experience in a high volume configuration! room, electrical control panel, electrical cabinet assembly, testing/Q! A environment. 2 yrs+ of direct direct supervisory experience of Technicians (Hardware, Control Panel, Engineering Services, etc.) a must;
- Must have ability to communicate in English (read, write, speak) as it relates in the performance of duties. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus;
- Basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplication and division;
- Must be able to work in inclement weather, weekends, late evenings, and overtime during the peak season;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with emphasis on customer service;
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to react quickly to resolve problems;
- Self-motivated, positive attitude, high-energy individual who can multitask well;
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others toward mutual objectives and able to influence across non-direct reports on cross functional teams;
- Ideal candidate will have knowledg! e/previous exposure in a 3PL environment .
