Location: Dallas, Texas

Description: USO is hiring Volunteer Coordinator right now, this position will be dwelled in Texas. More details about this position opportunity please read the description below. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for training and coordination of the volunteer workforce at USO Dallas/Fort Worth.

Responsibilities/Duties

Manage day-to-day volunteer operations for assigned location. Recruit ! and schedule, train, credential, coordinate and communicate logistic and other requirements related to regular center operations as well as special events and programs, including United
Through Reading® Room.

Assist with collection, maintenance and organization of volunteer service records, including contact information, hours worked and recognition.

Assist with location-specific fundraising and development initiatives as requested.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Minimum of 3 years work experience, preferably in a volunteer leadership or management role. Relevant experience in a not-for-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to maintain clear, frequent communication with USO leadership, staff, and volunteers at a variety of levels and geographic locations.

Worki! ng knowledge of various software programs including but not li! mited to Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated proficiency with volunteer management software preferred.

Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.

Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

Must be a strong advocate of the USO’s mission to support active duty military and their families.

Details

Please note:
This is a temporary part-time position based on 29 hours per week. This position is expected to last approximately three years.

Preference will be given to local candidates within commuting distance to Dallas, TX.

Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.
