Global Mobility professionals focus on helping clients with their international assignment programs. Services range from delivering expatriate tax returns, to assessing a client's vendor, to completely outsourcing its assignment administration. We also advise on the tax and HR implications of certain transactions involving global executives and HR policies.
We currently have a career opportunity for a compensation professional to provide services to corporate client employees and their tax providers related to compensation issues that arise out of international job assignments.
Responsibilities
Serve as the principal contact for the relationship manager and play an integral role in strategic planning for the development of new business opportunities.
Identify issues and risks with respect to the services, and provid! e and recommend the appropriate follow up to the client.
Provide ongoing support to regional human resources contacts, including answering questions, resolving problems, and settling issues.
Be responsible for the day-to-day management of account financials.
Serve as a team leader and mentor to staff. Be responsible to ensure the client team produces quality deliverables, on-time and within budget.
Perform to client expectations, including satisfaction and performance measures.
Develop proposals, demonstrating center services and other business development-related activities.
Research and resolve compensation questions/discrepancies.
Work with the client's tax preparer to answer questions on earnings, remittance of foreign taxes, tax equalization and settlement payments.
Oversee appropriate totalization letters to the U.S. Social Security Administration.
Oversee quality reviews on the assignee's compensation documentation. Complete the tax-bridging proces! s; maintain electronic compensation files and print compensation reports.
Oversee tax authorization list preparation with the client and/or tax preparer.
Serve as the point person for payroll and related professionals to coordinate the process (e.g., due dates) and to answer questions.
Provide the year-end compensation summary and verify information with W-2s; correct statements as needed.
Track the status of all payroll, host and off-payroll data for each assignee.
Assure timely and accurate processing and delivery of hypothetical tax, allowance and lump sum payments, payroll-related advances, home country housing deductions, etc.
Reconcile payroll data against payroll registers; resolve discrepancies.
Assist client-serving professionals in meeting client deliverables, service expectations, business development, client transitions and department objectives, as needed.
Identify and communicate ideas to ! make the compensation process more efficient.
To qualify, c! andidates must have:
a bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
a degree or equivalent experience in communications, business, human resources, international studies or a related field
a minimum of 3+ years of experience in international business, client relations, human resources, accounting, or a related field
and/or
working knowledge of foreign assignment matters, including payroll, accounts payable, relocation, tax, and compensation and benefits
ability to utilize technology-based tools, such as client server-based software, electronic mail, call tracking system, and database or groupware tools to perform job functions in accordance with guidance
an understanding of database architecture is preferred
working knowledge of foreign assignment matters, including payroll issues, relocation and housing,! taxes, and compensation; working knowledge of world geography, languages, and cultural issues
excellent communication skills in a cross-cultural environment and the ability to organize/handle multiple priorities with attention to detail
computer-proficiency, including knowledge of MS Windows applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and electronic mail; Lotus Notes proficiency a plus
knowledge of international compensation calculations, including hypothetical tax, allowances and lump sum payments, payroll-related advances, home country housing deductions, etc.
general knowledge of world affairs, geography and economic issues
multiple language skills and/or overseas/international living/working experience preferred
