Illinois Tool Works has recently been named one of America's most admired companies by a prominent business publication. We are looking for a Senior Sales Representative at one of our ! leading divisions, Paslode. Paslode is an industry leading manufacturer of cordless and pneumatic fastening systems for new home construction and remodeling applications. The position will be based out of our Alabama territory. Candidates can live anywhere within Texax market.
The Senior Sales Representative plans, administers, controls and organizes the activities of a Paslode sales territory to meet and exceed profitable sales and earnings objectives. Develops and implements advanced territory strategic plans to support regional annual and long-range plan objectives. Provides leadership through collaboration, credibility and accountability. Developer of entry level sales professionals by building the basic skills and talents of direct reports through coaching, mentoring and the effective use of personal development plans.
The main responsibilities of the Senior Sales Representative includes the following:
- Working with the Regional/District/Territory m! anager, develops on-going/continuous market analysis of the te! rritory by obtaining intelligence through multiple sources such as customers and Paslode Trade Focus. With their manager develops advanced territory plans by analyzing the Trade focus data and developing conclusions. Uses territory Trade Focus selling process efforts with aggressive end-user work to create demand and pull through of Paslode products. Implements national and regional strategies within the territory.
- Achieve annual territory revenue and margin plans. Recommends pricing and promotional programs with adequate support data to regional sales management. Implements pricing and promotional programs at a highly effective level across the territory for maximum benefit to Paslode.
- Establishes and maintains contact with the management of existing and potential customers, dealers and/or distributors within the territory. Works with distributor and dealer sales personnel to build Paslode product knowledge and implement Paslode programs/promotions. Devel! ops distributor plans jointly with customers that coordinate and support the Paslode territory plan. Measure and monitor the effectiveness of all programs implemented and managed in the territory. Recommends options and implements solutions providing continuous sales improvement within the territory. This includes pricing, distributor/dealer programs, product introductions, and management of channel conflict.
- Builds credibility within the organization as well as with external stakeholders by using good verbal and written communication skills. Develops advanced communications skills both written and oral. Drives accountability for plans and actions that build the Paslode brand within the territory. Coordinates the selling, trade focus, and dealer support activities of the territory. Proactively provides feedback and recommendations to territory/district/regional sales managers, and to other Paslode functions such as Marketing, and Distribution. Actively collaborates! with these functions to coordinate plans with strategic regional selli! ng plans.
- Exhibits advanced selling skills abilities by effectively handling objections, through effective negotiations and presentations, managing channel conflict, and resolving customer issues fairly and timely. Works at a high level, developing and recommending solutions, uses advanced Paslode and competitive product knowledge.
- Under general supervision, develops selling, communication and territory management skills in direct reports. Assesses team membersâ skill level and routinely provide timely and appropriate feedback to strengthen individual performance. Utilizes the Paslode PMP process including development plans, annual objective setting and performance evaluation.

Requirements :
- Bachelorâs Degree required
- 5-7 years proven sales/management experience required
- Ability to travel up to 50% (4-5 overnights a month)
- Strong communicat! ion skills, both written and verbal with an ability to effectively present information to both small and large groups of people
- Ability to analyze sales data and make strategic decisions based on the data
- Proven ability to influence customers and drive positive change in a marketplace
- Proven ability to deliver aggressive sales plan and financials
- Must have a driverâs license and good driving record
- Ability to create and implement strategic business plans
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to work in a remote environment (home office)
- Ability to make sales calls on jobsites and in distributor locations
