(The duties described reflect the full performance level of this position)

Performs work related to developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in various levels of government, private industry, and/or academic institutions to communicate and disseminate information about program mission and activities.

Performs surveys, studies, and evaluations to measure and improve program operations and results.

Performs duties in support of the information, internal communications, and liaison activities for volunteer recruitment and selection. Acts as a liaison with persons or groups within and/or outside of the organization to disseminate information about program requirements.
Participates in marketing campaigns.
Establishes and maintains relationships with the general public, the news and information media, key off! icials, agency stakeholders, industry representatives, and/or community groups in order to communicate and disseminate program information which results in an understanding of the agency's mission and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of international volunteer organizations, preferably Peace Corps.
Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
Ability to develop and implement recruitment and placement plans and strategies.
Knowledge of marketing principles and techniques for creating, producing and distributing informational and promotional materials.
Ability to develop relationships and assess applicant through articulate and persuasive communication.
Ability to develop and disseminate program information.
Ability to communicate in writing.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
I certify that I am currently a Peace Corps employee (Expert, Temporary or T! erm).

MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Q! ualifying experience for the FP-07 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to FP-09 or GS-5 which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples are reviewing regulations and policies and applying them to limited and routine administrative work assignments; or assisting in analyzing and recommending solutions to work process problems or issues.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE
The experience requirement may be met by successful completion of one full academic year of graduate level education or law school OR successfully meeting the requirements of the Superior Academic Achievement provisions.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requ! irements.

This is an Excepted Service Appointment. Initial appointments to the Peace Corps normally are for 60 months (5 years). Employees are paid on the Foreign Service pay scale and receive the same benefits as other Federal employees. A background security investigation will be required for all hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.

This position is located in the Office of Volunteer Recruitment and Selection. The incumbent serves as a Regional Recruiter assigned to the Los Angeles Regional Recruitment Office and reports to that office's Regional Recruitment Supervisor. The purpose of the position is to build public awareness of all Peace Corps programs and to meet assigned production goals by recruiting, screening and nominating qualified and suitable Volunteer applicants.

This is a Federal Government civilian job called an Excepted Service Appointment.
