Have a son entering eleventh grade in a North Dallas private school. I am looking for a positive, encouraging assistant to help improve his organizational skills, time management, test and project preparation, as well ! as help maintain assignments on a daily basis.
The school operates on the A/B class system, much like most universities. The school is considered academically competitive among the private schools in Dallas, and throughout Texas. My son is intelligent and capable of excelling in this environment, however he has difficulty focusing. He as been diagnosed with ADHD, and has participated in the school's alternative curriculum program for the past four years. This position will involve working with my son, communicating his progress and concerns to me, and working with his instructors and advisor on a regular basis.
It will require a minimum of two hours Sunday through Thursday. Please note that his needs may require additional time during exams and other periods, depending if he is struggling in specific classes and or assignments.
This position strictly involves assisting my son in becoming a disciplined, well organized and work efficient student. The goal is to he! lp him learn and implement essential skills that produce an in! dependent and effective student and young man. In other words, I am not interested in anyone doing his work, but teaching him the skills to succeed on his own.
