Mgr. Regional Safety
The Regional Safety Manager reports directly to the Home Services Safety Director and is responsible for providing the Regional VP with expert guidance on the de! velopment, implementation and evaluation of Safety & Health strategies, policies & practices to support compliance with Federal and State regulations, and reduction in work related injuries. The Regional Safety Manager is also responsible for insuring compliance with all Federal and State requirements at the site level with regard to environmental compliance as dictated by the policies and practices developed by Directv. The Manager works closely with other Regional Safety Managers to develop and implement programs, systems and processes using leading edge technology to continuously monitor the Safety & Health of the workforce. In addition, the Manager will establish Regional best practices which can be incorporated into Safety and Health plans. The Manager is also a participant in the disaster preparedness arena by monitoring their respective areas for any potential impacts caused by either natural or man-made disasters.
Essential Duties
- Manage R! egional safety efforts
- Mentor and coach Regional desi! gnated Safety points of contact
- Establish a safety system within the Region which utilizes highly successful aspects of the company to enable continuous risk reduction
- Initiate proactive vs. reactive Safety initiatives aimed at reducing workplace injuries
- Be the standard-bearer for Safety & Health initiatives for the Region
- Advise key Regional leaders on all aspects of Safety & Health issues and provide them with guiding principles related to continuous risk reduction for our workforce
- Seek out and implement new technologies which assist in the identification of workplace hazards, track recommendations, and monitor overall effectiveness
- Working with other Safety Managers and the Home Services Safety Director, establish key Safety & Health metrics using both leading and lagging performance indicators for review by senior Company leadership
- Conduct accident investigations and analysis, safety meetings, training cl! asses and audits as needed
- Interface with Federal and State officials on behalf of the Company
- Analyze accident data to develop strategies to improve performance
- Conduct Safety and Environmental audits
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in related safety field preferred
- Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
