Position Summary:
The Management Trainee - DSD is in an 18-24 month leadership development program that includes rotational assignments including Branch Operations, Route Sales, Account Sales and Branch Management. The program is designed to give candidates exposure to all roles across the DSD team and experience in overall branch management. After the program is complete, the cand! idate will have to be willing to relocate to areas that will h! ave open positions. The trainee will work with the assigned manager for the development of targets in each DSD rotational position to develop core leadership and functional skills, ultimately learning all facets of the DSD branch sales and operations business.
Required Skills
Responsible for working with cross functional members of the DSD leadership team to gain exposure to all related roles, while remaining flexible and accommodating to ever changing business needs.
Accountable to key players and functions across the sales team and working in all areas of DSD to learn the business and to develop an understanding of sales and operations. Position requires the ability to perform physical work (below) with varying length work days/schedules. Candidates must be able to work weekends and holidays as required.
Maintain a competent, trained work force working within budgeted staffing levels.
Trains employees and manages performance fo! r adherence to DSD standard operating procedures
Assists with the development achievement of branch sales and operational goals; participates in self-audits & visual checks, and all related activities.
Assures daily route schedules are met and all issues are communicated timely.
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, display or demonstrate product using samples and emphasize salable features.
Monitor and meet Company goals for unsaleable returns, shrink, A.R. and inventories.
Ensures appearance and condition of all Company personnel and equipment is maintained to Company standards and in accordance with Company policy and Department of Transportation regulations.
Develop new areas, capable to work with wholesale and modern trade environment.
Collect, chart, and interpret statistical data; manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Issues corrective actions as required.
Train! team members in company and regulatory policy i.e. OSHA, EPA, USDA/FSI! S, EEOC
Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Required Experience
Bachelorâs degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Federal Regulations require driver must be at least 21 years of age
Experience with Microsoft Office software programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
Must be self-motivated, pro-active and have a high-energetic approach to problem solving.
This is an entry level position and understanding of food processing, supervisory responsibilities and bi-lingual skills desired.
A valid driverâs license is required, CDL-B preferred
The individual must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) written te! st plus a D.O.T. physical and drug screen
