Job Purpose: The primary purpose of the Project Leader position is to research, design, program, test, install, and maintain assigned programs and systems. The project leader is also responsible for leading teams and projects, and may supervise staff under the direction of the department manager.
Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
BS degree in a related field. 5 or more years of experience implementing and supporting healthcare software-clinical background â€"
RN preferred. Knowledge of Meditech nursing and other clinical modules preferred. Meditech NPR report writing skills preferred.
Related Work Experience
A high level of analytical ability is required to find solutions to difficult technical or administra! tive problems to determine economic feasibility or options ava! ilable, and to assess time involved in system changes.
Experience with one or more of the following vendors applications: Lawson, Meditech, McKesson, Microsoft SQL, PC SAS and API
Extensive exposure to Operating Systems, Computer Hardware facilities and exposure to System Design.
Extensive exposure to programming techniques
Interpersonal skills are needed to communicate with department users regarding application problems
Maintains a professional approach in all situations
Must work long hours if system difficulties result from hardware, software, or personnel problems.
Willing to travel and work at off-site location as needed
Work Experience: 5 or more years implementing and supporting business software applications is preferred.
Job Roles
Assists departmental personnel in troubleshooting and problem resolution regarding application systems. May be called upon as a technical re! source for other project teams.
Communicates with applications support team and users to develop system requirements and solutions. Logs, tracks, and resolves problems related to application systems with the system vendors or outside contractors.
Identifies, delegates and develops design specifications, implementation schedules, and/or software solutions including, but not limited to reports, databases, dictionaries, and scripts
Maintains current, detailed system documentation for assigned applications
Manages interoperable applications, interfaces, and/or systems balancing resources, deadlines and time. Establishes appropriate priorities and courses of action and organizes schedules to achieve desired objectives.
Performs or ensures testing is completed for all updates >
Strives to achieve accurate, reliable, and timely service
Supervises and provides direction to team members as necessary, and informs leadership! team of all events pertaining to the operations of assigned applicatio! ns and projects
Other duties as assigned.
