Detailed specification about this job opportunity kindly see the descriptions. Local Dispatcher Dunavant Sea Lane Express, LLC Intermodal & Container Experience a plus! Summary: Dispatching of Container Drivers ESSENTIAL! DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITES include the following: Insures containers are dropped in accordance with customer needs and/or requests. Monitors last free day and return dates to avoid charge backs to company and/or customer. Dispatches drivers to/from container yards/railroads.
Verifies container availability, booking confirmations, vessel acceptance of exports, and various other problems that arise surrounding city dispatch. Dispatches over the road drivers as back up to OTR Dispatcher. Assists in recruitment of drivers. Provides customer service.
Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises the fleet of Local Drivers, having knowledge of their on-time service level, and the general knowledge of the revenue earned every week. Understands the needs of the drivers in the local fleet in order to best identify the common objectives of the Company and the Owner Operator when developing the daily load board. EXPERIENCE: Two years ! preferred Intermodal related experience COMPUTER SKILLS: Profi! cient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows XP LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual a plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10 s and 100 s.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
