Job Description:
The Database Developer must have Oracle PL/SQL and UNIX experience and will design, develop, implement, maintain and support applications for hosted Database Marketing systems. The ideal candidate will have participated in at least one successful data warehouse project and has good understanding of ETL and relational database systems.
Responsibilities
Duties include:
- Working with account team on business requirements and functional specifications
- Identifying, designing and developing process improvements.
- Defining, designing and implementing approaches to perform initial loads and ongoing updates of the database systems.
- Transforming and loading data according to the business specifications.
- Coding and unit testing modules
- Executing system, integration and regression tests
- Performing enlacements and bug fixes as required
- Defining an! d executing data validation routines
- Supporting appli! cations and performing production data loads
- Preparing applicable system documentation and operation manuals
Requirements:
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong communication skills
- Capable of interpreting specs written by non-technical team members
- Experience servicing ad hoc requests
- Ability to carry a project from concept through deployment and ongoing production
- Familiarity with both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments
- Strong background with UNIX / ORACLE platforms
- Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and best practices
- 3+ years development experience with Oracle (PL/SQL) and Unix Shell Scripting (KSH)
- UNIX tools such as editors, source code version control (CVS), etc.
- MS Office tools such as WORD, EXCEL, etc.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with PL/SQL, common UNIX commands and UNIX Shell s! cripting (KSH)
- Experience in a dynamic work environment
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) required
- Database Marketing industry experience.
- Address Standardization, Merge/Purge experience.
