The statements below describe the g! eneral nature of the work being performed by the Linehaul Dispatch Planner and are not a complete list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required. The Linehaul Dispatch Planner may perform other duties as assigned. The Linehaul Dispatch Planner is expected to abide by and enforce the policies and procedures of FFE, including regular and prompt attendance, production requirements, timely and efficient completion of tasks and responsibilities, as well as promoting teamwork and cooperative effort.
The Dispatch Planner is responsible for ensuring that the customers' transportation needs are met in the most cost-effective and efficient way. This means that a Linehaul Dispatch Planner must appropriately match the right equipment, drivers and loads to make sure freight is timely and safely delivered. To accomplish these expectations, a Linehaul Dispatch Planner is expected to perform the following duties:
 Evaluates customer service requirements;
 ! Estimates loads and trip times;
 Optimizes on-time delivery at the lowest operating cost;
 Plans most efficient routes using all available resources maximizing truck utilization and minimizing empty and out-of-route miles;
 Establishes truck schedules;
 Arranges pickup and delivery details and manages the route stop order for loading and unloading trucks;
 Evaluates the operation to promote cost-efficient service and make recommendations for improvements;
 Administer drop lots;
 Monitor current equipment location and status;
 Manages Terminal Trailer Pool;
 Advise Sales and Account Manager on detentions, loading and un-loading, re-consignments, over-weights and OS&D, and problems caused by Customer;
 Interact with customers and troubleshoot problems with customers to obtain final resolution;
 Respond quickly and efficiently to changes in drivers, road conditions, or load needs and assist Driver Man! ager in re-powering loads and drivers when necessary;
 Effectively and efficiently assist the Operations Manager and Driver Managers in the supervision of drivers;
 Resolve any driver's issues or concerns escalated to the Planner and, as appropriate, make recommendations and referrals to other management to resolve the issue or concern; the Planner shares responsibility for any appropriate follow-up or escalation to management to see that the driver's issues/concerns are addressed;
 Recommend specific disciplinary action for performance or disciplinary problems to the Operations Manager or Driver Manager;
 Work cooperatively with Driver Managers to ensure Customer, Driver and Company needs are met in a timely manner;
 Work with Drivers to ensure special requests are completed;
 Model professional attitude and maintains composure at all times,  Other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
 Able to work! weekends
 High School or Equivalent (College Degree preferred) !
 Previous AS400 Knowledge
 Experience with PeopleNet Communications is a plus
