IN AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE A MORE HEALTHY, SAFE AND SATISFYING ENVIRONMENT TO OUR EMPLOYEES, INDIVIDUALS TO WHOM JOB OFFERS ARE EXTENDED MAY UNDERGO NICOTINE TESTING AS A PART OF THE PRE-EMPLOYMENT PROCESS.
The Cost Accountant will be part of the Performance Management & Innovation (PMI) team within Tenet. The PMI team is dedicated to providing resources to dramatically improve throughput, cost efficiency, quality, service, and patient satisfaction. The Cost Accountant will maintain the integrity of Tenet's cost accounting data, ensuring accurate and timely cost information throughout the company. Each analyst is assigned to a specific region within Tenet. The Cost ! Accountant is responsible for maintaining and improving Tenet'! s cost accounting system and works closely with hospital and corporate management to ensure data accuracy and integrity. This person will be the primary contact for all cost accounting issues for their respective region.
Additional responsibilities:
25-50% Travel
Review and Distribute the Data Integrity Report at pre-close and close to hospital and corporate personnel.
Ensure the Monthly IMMS Cost Accounting file is processed timely and accurately.
Create and distribute the monthly close schedules to hospitals and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
Relative Value Unit (RVU) development and maintenance. Process/create new RVU's and changes to existing RVU's.
Work with hospitals to resolve problems / issues.
Review and update existing RVU's to ensure that all hospitals charge codes are current at least once per year.
Review and correct departmental cost and revenue mismatches.
! Review the Activity Master Table for each hospital.
Use the Cost Redirection table to move expenses from one department to another.
Use the Cost Exclusion Table to identify problems.
Research of Data Integrity Issues.
Assist hospital staff and Corporate departments with research and fixing data integrity issues related to cost accounting.
Support Calls from Hospitals.
Assist hospitals with systems and cost accounting data questions.
Assist Hospitals in creating Showcase queries related to cost accounting data.
Unit Cost Review Process.
Final review of cost per unit after RVU's and redirections are processed.
Use the Activity Master Unit Cost Report in On Demand to complete this process

Qualifications
:
BBA or MBA in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Strong Analytical and Interpretation Skills
! Intermediate / Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
Strong Communic! ation Skills to Senior Management
Comfort in Training Other Individuals
Experience in Cost Accounting / Healthcare Finance Preferred
25-50% Travel required
