Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing, reviewing and recording journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts for the company. Accounting for and tracking the Company’s lease! portfolio is a primary responsibility of this position. Responsibilities also include assisting in the preparation of the company’s consolidation and financial reporting to management. The successful candidate will provide efficient support for a dynamic group that includes the Corporate Controller, the Director of Global Consolidations and the Financial Reporting Manager and assist on other projects as required. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required as well as the ability to effectively work with all levels of employees.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
The position will:
- Account for and track company leases to include preparing memos and schedules explaining the accounting for the leases to the teams in the field
- Support the consolidation of company results in the newly implemented BPC tool
- Translation of foreign subsidiaries
- Intercompany balancing
- Prepare reports fo! r users and auditors
- Review subsidiary ledgers for un! usual activity and errors
- Prepare journals and account reconciliations for Corporate level activities
- Assist Financial Reporting Manager gather data for the quarterly and annual financial reports
- Work with corporate level departments on GAAP compliance issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA preferred
- 6-10 years as an accountant providing operational and commercial support in a fast-growing and dynamic organization with experience in the following areas:
- Booking journal entries
- Reconciling general ledger accounts
- Preparing reports for management and internal users
- Foreign currency accounting • Consolidations (preferred, but not required)
- Writing position papers on GAAP accounting issues (preferred, but not required)
- Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must have the ability to occasionally ! (5 â€" 10%) travel to the company’s facilities located around the globe
- Experience using SAP (ECC) required, SAP (BPC) experience ideal
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word required
