Job Description
Hedge Fund is searching for an outstanding Technical Support Engineer to join our Information Technology team providing support to a high-energ! y trading environment. This position will have a hands-on role in deploying and sustaining both the systems and applications directly utilized by our end-users. This individual will work closely with talented and driven technology professionals to deliver solutions built primarily on the Microsoft platform. The IT team has a strong track record of applying the latest relevant technologies and managing a highly-available infrastructure.
Successful candidates for this position will have a demonstrated track record of both educational and personal achievement along with a passion for technology. They will need to be comfortable working in a creative and complex business environment. Financial experience is not a prerequisite, but an interest in the application of technology to support an investment management environment is a must. Previous experience supporting messaging systems, file services, desktops and servers is a plus. Candidates should be a self-starter and h! ave exceptional written and verbal communication skills, atten! tion to detail, and an understanding of the difference between working hard and working smart.
Job Requirements
Bachelorâs degree, preferably in Computer Sciences or Management Information Systems
Strong customer service skills for end-user interactions
Academic or professional experience with PowerShell scripting
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems
Knowledge of computer hardware and performance optimization
Fundamental knowledge of IP networking and system security
Desired Skills
Additional scripting languages such as Visual Basic, Wise and Kix
Imaging solutions such as Windows Deployment Services/RIS, Ghost and Rapid Deploy
Software management including repackaging, scripted installations and deployment
Messaging and collaboration systems, such as Exchange, Lync and SharePoint
Leading technical training, both one-on-one and in group sessions
Success Factors
Proven troubleshooting methodology and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well within a nimble team
Technical proficiency and desire to grow
Strong verbal and written communication skills
