Dynamics Technical Specialist - Retail
The Dynamics Technical Sales Professional (TSP) is respon! sible for supporting Microsoft and Partner Sales Teams in initiating and executing sales of Microsoft Dynamics AX to a set of defined accounts within the Retail Vertical. The TSP will work closely with other Microsoft customer-facing resources, including Microsoft Consulting Services, and Microsoftâs extensive network of Value Added Resellers, to qualify, drive, accelerate and help close Retail sales opportunities in close conjunction with the Dynamics Retail Solution Sales Professional. This role will focus on large deal sales cycles with Solution Sales Professionals ranging from 100K to multimillion dollar opportunities. Candidates will need to have a deep demonstrable knowledge within the Retail Vertical. Areas of expertise to include multiple segments in the following retail business disciplines:
Retail Store Solutions, Point of Service, Mobility
CRM, Clienteling, and Loyalty
E-Commerce and Omni-Channel
Distribution and Fulfillment
Planning and Mer! chandising
ERP, Supply Chain, and Financials
T! echnical Specialist - Retail Key Responsibilities include:
Engage with AM, IMDM, PPS and Dynamics SSP per named account to drive Dynamics Retail awareness, revenue opportunity and maximize account penetration,
Develop effective business and technology discovery techniques to both engage the customer and prepare for the complexities of the competitive sales environment,
Manage solution conceptualization, topology, technology oversight including Dynamics (POS, AX, CRM, Services, & Platform Components),
Deep and Effective presentation of solution scalability; benchmarks; recommended topology; integration strategies; platform foundation; extensibility frameworks,
Deep and Effective presentation of solution capabilities and scenarios specifically mapped against customer business processes, metrics, and data,
Build and Drive environments for conference room pilot; proof of concept,
Engage with Microsoft Technology Center to establish Dynamics Retai! l environments for presentation; testing; and customer specific engagements,
Strategically engage MCS and/or GSI to ensure proper architecture and foundation for solution blueprints; best practices addressing solution gaps; proper testing; and validate skill of GSI resources,
Engage with BG R&D Customer and Partner Team as appropriate for support and consultation on most strategic; large scale; complex opportunities,
Technical Specialist - Retail - Key Requirements Include:
Bachelorâs degree required - MBA preferred
7-10 years of sales and support of business applications technology, deployment, and development experience with strong retail domain knowledge including POS, Store Management, Planning, Merchandising, Supply Chain, ERP, CRM, E-Commerce,
Deep understanding of technology, standards, and development for both retail store (HW Devices - Surface; Digital Signage; POS peripherals; payment technology & other like NFC) and omni-chan! nel environments (Customer commerce sites, mobile),
Proven skills i! n analysis, presentation, demonstration, technology deployment,
Level 400 solution demonstration and development including envisioning, blueprints, architecture (POS, AX, CRM, Services, Platform),
Ability to respond in depth to technical RFP/RFI,
Strong knowledge of MSFT platform technology SQL, Visual Studio, SharePoint, BI, Windows and other applications,
Understanding Key ISV solutions and integration strategies,
Strong skills building technology solutions standalone and with a partner and through partner.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years ERP pre-sales experience selling to Enterprise customers. In lieu of pre-sales experience, a successful candidate will have deep hands-on experience implementing and/or administering complex ERP solutions in an Enterprise environment.
1) Discovery, Demonstrations, Presentations, RFIs and RFPs
The successful candidate must be able to und! erstand the business challenges and initiatives of prospective customers by formulating and asking questions of individuals at all levels of an organization. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to personalize Dynamics AX and demonstrate the system confidently; ensuring that customers understand how their vertical business needs will be addressed by the adoption of Dynamics AX. Written communication is also highly important and experience of responding to RFIs and RFPs is essential.
2) Technical /Functional Skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX or a comparable ERP application is required for individuals who fill this role. A fair amount of technical knowledge of adjacent technologies (application development, portals, databases, business intelligence and/or EAI) is desirable. Broad knowledge of Microsoft Platform technologies including .Net, Visual Studio, SharePoint, SQL Server, BizTalk and/or Lync is beneficial.
