Title: Specialty/Non Acute Pharmacy Portfolio Executive
Location: Remote/Virtual Office
Job Summary:
This pharmacy position is a key leadership position for a pharmacy contracting portfolio representing $12.5 billion in drug purchases for participating healthcare organizations. The incumbent will conduct periodic business reviews and strategic planning meetings with key suppliers; and will routinely monitor supplier compliance to contract terms and conditions.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for negotiating contracts, managing, operating and budgeting for a multi-billion dollar drug portfolio business.
Understand and evaluate the use of drugs in Specialty pharmacy as well as in home care, managed care, physicia! n practices and free standing surgical centers.
Devel! op and pursue programs to ensure optimal utilization, best pricing and services.
Build relationships and serve as an expert resource to customers and providers.
Use presentations to market, educate and gain particular commitment from health care organizations and drug companies.
Conduct bid analysis, award and manage contracts.
Responsible for all contract maintenance such as price changes, product adds and deletes member and distributor communications.
Work with field staff and sales to deliver programs.
Maintain a very high level of customer satisfaction for all suppliers and providers
Qualifications:
Prefer a pharmacist or a bachelor’s degree with 5 to 7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
Sales experience in Specialty Pharmaceuticals or distribution required
Distribution experience in Pharmacy required
Reimbursement expertise is desirable.
Experience n! egotiating contract terms and conditions
Must possess a strong business acumen
Up to 75% travel required
