The Fraud Analyst is responsible for monitoring and reviewing potential fraudulent activities and managing frameworks for fraud prevention/detection and risk mitigation strategies. The analyst will perform data mining a! nd analyses to identify exposure of high risk and fraudulent activities, evaluate current frameworks and strategies and provide recommendations to minimize fraud losses and improve risk mitigation capabilities. This position will be an integral member of the Business Analysis & Optimization department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor high risk areas and review suspected accounts to recognize fraud trends and behavior
- Collect internal and external data and apply qualitative and quantitative skills to develop fraud models
- Examine current fraud rules and tools and provide comprehensive solutions to mitigate fraud losses
- Partner with operations team to execute fraud prevention/detection strategies
- Collaborate with risk management team to evaluate risk and return measures and to assess high risk areas associated with loan originations, online/mobile transactions
- Ensure continuous improvement of the fraud! prevention system
Qualificat! ion and Requirements
Bachelors’ degree in a quantitative field (engineering, mathematics, statistics, finance, and economics) required. Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of relevant business experience with exposure to fraud analytics, fraud prevention/detection systems, and complex electronic fraud transactions (such as ACH fraud, debit and credit card fraud, identity theft). E-commerce and/or financial services experience highly preferred. Predictive modeling experience is a definite plus.
Skills and Knowledge
Position requires strong data mining and manipulation skills. SQL experience is required. Candidate should have excellent analytical acumen and innate curiosity. Must be creative, collaborative and flexible. Ability to work well with ambiguity. Strong verbal and oral communications skills are required.
